Kamaitachi no Kansuke's SCA Armor
January 1, 2008: The complete outfit is now posted on my Flickr site. I will be doing further updates there, as this page was never more than an ad-hoc journal.
In late 2006 I started building a suit of late-period samurai armor for use in the SCA. Because the suit is intended only for the SCA, it is constructed out of black 3/16" ABS plastic. The plastic actually resembles lacquered metal from 10' or more, so it doesn't appear blatantly modern. The first set of images are from January 2007, when the breastplate (Do) and shoulder plates (Sode) were completed.

June 1, 2007 - It is still missing a few secondary items, but is pretty much ready to fight in. I have to finish the helmet and haidate... plus I still need some proper fighting garb. The garb in these pictures is better than a t-shirt, but it's not what I'll wind up in.
